1. Locate the appointment in the appointment book and open the appointment scheduling window by double-clicking the appointment. Or, select the appointment in the appointment book, click the Edit menu, and select Edit Appointment.
2. Click on the appointment status drop down field. In addition to Scheduled, Confirmed, Canceled, and No-show, there are two new appointment status types for Checked-In and Completed.
3. Click the Ok button. You’ll notice a new icon will be displayed in the upper left corner of the appointment.
It’s easy to find the right employees to schedule in VSS Pro employee scheduling program. In addition to sorting employees by name and position, you can also sort by seniority, hours scheduled, or desired hours. The Sort options can be found under the View menu in VSS Pro.
The View > Sort By > Seniority command sorts names on the schedule by hire date. Employees with the earliest hire date appear at the top.
The View > Sort By > Hours Scheduled command sorts names on the schedule by the number of hours scheduled. Employees with the least number of scheduled hours appear at the top.
The View > Sort By > Desired Hours command sorts names on the schedule by the number of desired hours. Employees with the highest number of desired hours appear at the top.
Sorting occurs within dividers. For example, if you have set up three groups, or divisions, within your schedule, the names in group 1, 2 and 3 are sorted separately, thus keeping the names within the same divisions or groups.

Last week we attended the ASBDC (Association of Small Business Development Centers) conference in San Antonio, Texas. This is the third year we’ve attended the national conference to exhibit Ultimate Business Planner, our business planning software, and the interest by local chapters continues to grow. Many SBDC offices around the country already use Ultimate Business Planner in their one-on-one sessions and small business development classes. Our software is a tool that’s provided to help entrepreneurs start new businesses and to help existing business owners and managers plan ways to grow their businesses. Ultimate Business Planner includes examples and “plain-English” advice entrepreneurs can read along each and every step of writing a business plan. SBDC counselors and advisors at the conference told us the biggest reason why they’ve implemented Ultimate Business Planner is the ease of use. Clients better understand Ultimate Business Planner compared to other business planning options, and are able to complete business plans on their own, using the advisors’ expertise as needed.
Several local SCORE chapters, which are part of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and various states’ rehabilitation services and economic development offices, use Ultimate Business Planner to assist their clients in writing business plans, too.
For those of you who don’t know us very well, here’s a little introduction to our company. We are located in Fargo, North Dakota, and were founded in 1991. Our company develops business management software for small- and mid-size businesses, focusing on the areas of business planning, human resources, appointment scheduling, and employee scheduling. We strive to help businesses streamline processes and save time.
We hope this blog can continue that mission and you’ll be able to find some useful tips to help your everyday tasks. At the very least, you can be comforted knowing that you’re not alone when you’ve accidently double-booked an employee in the appointment book or feel overwhelmed when you’re writing a business plan for a new venture at your company. We’ll also be sharing tips on how to better use our software for your daily tasks and will be informing you of the latest news here at Atlas Business Solutions. Be sure to sign up for the RSS feed, so you won’t miss a single post!
We feel like we understand the daily struggles of our customers because we’re a small company, too, and have had many of the same experiences. We also pay attention to the feedback from customers and prospective customers in order to shape our product development. For example, when customers said “we need an easy way to accrue vacation and sick time,” we listened and built an easy way to accrue time-off in Staff Files, our HR software. We encourage, value, and utilize that feedback. So, please continue to tell us about your struggles and ideas for new software programs and product improvements to our existing software. We want to develop the software solutions for your business management needs.
